24988 (2025). Hon Barbara Edmonds to the Minister for Rail: What time limited funding, if any, does the Minister’s responsible agencies, if any, face following budget 2025?

Rt Hon Winston Peters: The Rail Network Investment Programme is currently funded for 2024-27 only, to align with the three-year period for which the current RNIP has been approved. Funding is provided through a multi-year appropriation to enable flexibility between years if required. This approach (rolling funding for a maximum of three years at a time) is consistent with funding for the rail network since the Programme was established in 2020.
