24966 (2026). Rawiri Waititi to the Minister of Corrections: How does the Parole Board decide when to schedule or progress Parole Board hearings, and what notice, if any, must be given to affected individuals before a hearing date is set?
Hon Mark Mitchell: The Parole Act 2002 determines when most hearings must take place, depending on the type of hearing. There is no legislative requirement determining the notice period a person must be given of an upcoming parole hearing.
