Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Transport: What was the net change, if any, of all roles in the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, between 30 May 2024 and 22 May 2025, listed by job title and number of roles under each job title?

Hon Chris Bishop: I can advise that the net change of all roles at the Ministry between 30 May 2024 and 22 May 2025 was reduced by 23 roles. Please refer to the answers to questions 24902 (2025) and 24909 (2025) for the breakdown by job title and number of roles. I am advised that there has been a net reduction of 18 positions, for job titles that existed at NZTA at both 22 May 2025 and 30 May 2024. These are listed in the attached table. Position numbers for existing position titles may increase or reduce depending on the changing needs of NZTA, including during organisational change processes. Most closed positions were vacant, and any people affected were either redeployed or made redundant.
