24828 (2026). Hon Ginny Andersen to the Minister of Police: How much, if any, of the $50 million of additional funding to New Zealand Police for frontline policing be spent on remuneration?

Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that approximately $30 million of the additional one-off funding received in the 2027/28 financial year is intended to fund future employee wage cost pressures accumulating as a result of previous and anticipated wage bargaining rounds, but creating cost pressures in the 2025/26, 2026/27 and 2027/28 financial years.
