24828 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister for Child Poverty Reduction: In the Minister’s departments, ministries and agencies for which savings have been identified, resulting from the Government’s directive to reduce expenditure in the public service, what percentage of employees who have lost or are set to lose their roles, as well as vacancies that will not be filled, if any, are located in the Auckland Region, as at 30 May 2024?
Hon Louise Upston: I am advised by the Ministry of Social Development that no employees have lost their roles through a formal change process as a result of the Government’s directive to reduce expenditure in the public service. Some staff have taken up voluntary redundancy and MSD is currently consulting on change proposals in four Business Groups that are part of the Wellington National Office. No staff working for the Ministry’s Service Delivery regions are included in the change proposals. No decisions have been made at this time on the change proposals including vacancies.
