24824 (2026). Camilla Belich to the Minister of Justice: How much of Ministry of Justice’s baseline is being invested into artificial intelligence, if any?

Hon Paul Goldsmith: I am advised that the Ministry of Justice has approved baseline funding for software incorporating artificial intelligence functionality, including Copilot licenses (for example, $1.171 million in 2025/26). However, broader AI-enabled capability is typically delivered as part of wider digital investments and is not separately budgeted or reported as a distinct category of expenditure.
