Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Defence: In the Minister’s departments, ministries and agencies for which savings have been identified, resulting from the Government’s directive to reduce expenditure in the public service, what percentage of employees who have lost or are set to lose their roles, as well as vacancies that will not be filled, if any, are located in the Gisborne Region, as at 30 May 2024?

Hon Judith Collins: As at 30 May 2024, no NZDF employees have lost, or are set to lose, their roles as a result of the Government’s directive to reduce expenditure. With regard to the Ministry of Defence, the Member is referred to the response to question 7727 (2024).
