24726 (2026). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister for Social Development and Employment: What plans, if any, are in place if the claim that “This will result in net savings for the Crown by reducing the number of households in Emergency Housing”, in the Emergency Housing – Extending Scaled-down Support Services appropriation in the summary of initiatives for Budget 2026, does not come to pass?
Hon Louise Upston: I am advised that the Ministry of Social Development have processes in place to monitor savings and outcomes of initiatives. There are also separate processes in place to update demand-driven forecasts twice a year, which ensures that the forecasts reflect recent trends and the most up-to-date information, including changes in trends due to these initiatives. This is also my response to WPQ 24729 (2026)
