24712 (2026). Hon Jo Luxton to the Minister of Customs: What will the total reduction be, if any, of FTEs who work in “areas that do not impact the delivery of core services”, as part of the Baseline Savings – New Zealand Customs Service appropriation; and what roles will be lost as a result, if any, expressed as a list?

Hon Casey Costello: The Government announced measures to transform the public service as part of Budget 2026 on 28 May 2026. I am advised that Customs is considering the implications of the transformation programme and that Customs has not disestablished any roles as a consequence of the savings announced in Budget 2026. This is also my response to Written Parliamentary Questions 24714, 24717, and 24905 (2026).
