Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for ACC: How much, if anything, is being budgeted in the 2025/26 financial year for redundancy payments, severance or other termination packages in the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, and how much has been budgeted and spent in the past five financial years?

Hon Scott Simpson: I am advised that ACC does not allocate a budget for redundancy payments and therefore has not included future redundancy, severance, or other termination package costs in its 2025/26 budget (or in previous budgets). ACC spent a total of $8,282,325 on redundancy, severance, or other termination packages between 2020/2021 and 2024/2025.
