24555 (2026). Dr Tracey McLellan to the Minister of Corrections

24555 (2026). Dr Tracey McLellan to the Minister of Corrections: What changes, if any, have been made since 1 January 2024 to reintegration services available to prisoners prior to release, including changes to eligibility, referral pathways, service frequency, service duration, provider arrangements, contracted capacity, or site availability?
Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that Corrections seeks to continuously improve the effectiveness and efficiency of its reintegration services. These services are commissioned and delivered in a dynamic environment, and continuous improvement requires ongoing refinement of services, operational delivery, and contractual terms and arrangements.
I am further advised that Corrections manages more than 300 contracts for reintegration and community services, and that historical information about these detailed changes is not centrally held. These details would be outlined in a large number of briefings, memoranda and file notes held across both national and regional teams. Collating this information would amount to substantial collation, something that I am not willing to ask of officials.
