Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Health: How much, if anything, is being budgeted in the 2025/26 financial year for redundancy payments, severance or other termination packages in the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, and how much has been budgeted and spent in the past five financial years?

Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that the departments, agencies, and ministries that I am responsible for as Minister of Health report annually to the Health Select Committee on these matters, as part of our focus on putting patients first and ensuring that all New Zealanders have access to timely, quality healthcare. I do not consider it in the public interest to commit taxpayer-funded officials' time to preparing this information ahead of these publications.
