Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Economic Growth: How many voluntary redundancy processes have been initiated, if any, in the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, as at 22 May 2025, since 27 November 2023, and how much was the total cost in New Zealand dollar terms, if any?

Hon Nicola Willis: I am advised that the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) had initiated two limited voluntary redundancy processes with a total of $8,356,896.69 paid as severance payments. Note, standard fortnightly pay or leave payments upon termination are excluded. With regard to New Zealand Growth Capital Partners, I am advised none.
