Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Economic Growth: How many redundancy processes have been initiated, if any, in the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, as at 22 May 2025, since 27 November 2023, and how much was the total cost in New Zealand dollar terms, if any?

Hon Nicola Willis: With regard to the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, I am advised that information about the number of redundancy processes as at 31 March 2025, will be available as part of MBIE’s responses to written questions for the 2025/26 Estimates Examinations. With regard to costs, information can be found in the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment's 2023-24 Annual Review documents. I refer the Member to question 75 of these documents, which are publicly available on Parliament’s website. Information for the 2024–25 year will be publicly available in MBIE's 2024–25 Annual Review documents. With regard to New Zealand Growth Capital Partners (NZGCP), I am advised that two redundancy processes were initiated. Due to the limited number of roles impacted, the total cost is not disclosed to protect the privacy of the individuals involved.
