Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister for the Public Service: In the Minister’s departments, ministries and agencies for which savings have been identified, resulting from the Government’s directive to reduce expenditure in the public service, what percentage of employees who have lost or are set to lose their roles, as well as vacancies that will not be filled, if any, are located in the Otago Region, as at 30 May 2024?

Hon Nicola Willis: These decisions are the responsibility of the relevant Chief Executive, however, I am advised that the Public Service Commission (the Commission) only has an office on the Wellington Region. The Commission has released a proposal, which is currently being consulted on, and these decisions are still to be finalised and are subject to staff consultation. This is also my response to WPQ 24505, 25047, 25080, 25081, 25083.
