Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Revenue: How much, if anything, is being budgeted in the 2025/26 financial year for redundancy payments, severance or other termination packages in the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, and how much has been budgeted and spent in the past five financial years?

Hon Simon Watts: Inland Revenue has not set aside any funding for redundancy payments in 2025/26 but will accrue into 2025/26 an estimated $0.300 million for change processes underway. Inland Revenue has spent the following on restructuring cost, primarily as a planned outcome of its Business Transformation programme: $0.922 million in 2024/25 (as at 7 May 2025), $0.600 million in 2023/24, $4.049 million in 2022/23, $24.618 million in 2021/22, and $13.086 million in 2020/21.
