24447 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Police: How many redundancy processes have been initiated, if any, in the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, as at 22 May 2025, since 27 November 2023, and how much was the total cost in New Zealand dollar terms, if any?

Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that between 27 November 2023 and 22 May 2025, there have been 40 redundancies, which amounted to $2,207,531.50. The Serious Fraud Office (SFO), the SFO has initiated one change process since 27 November 2023, which concluded on 1 October 2024 and resulted in four permanent staff being made redundant. The SFO did not pay any redundancy compensation to staff, but did provide outplacement support to people made redundant, the total cost of which was $6,450.
