Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Māori Development: How much, if anything, is being budgeted in the 2025/26 financial year for redundancy payments, severance or other termination packages in the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, and how much has been budgeted and spent in the past five financial years?

Hon Tama Potaka: Each year Te Puni Kōkiri is required to report on the total amount budgeted for, and spent on redundancy payments and severance packages through Select Committee processes for Estimates and Annual Reviews. I am advised that Te Puni Kōkiri will prepare this information for the upcoming Māori Affairs Select Committee’s Estimates Review process and will be available publicly in due course on the Parliament website at the following link: https://www.parliament.nz/en/pb/sc/scl/maori-affairs/tab/report#filterformsearchtarget.
