24417 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Māori Crown Relations: Te Arawhiti: How many redundancy processes have been initiated, if any, in the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, as at 22 May 2025, since 27 November 2023, and how much was the total cost in New Zealand dollar terms, if any?
Hon Tama Potaka: This question relates to the periods before and after the transfer of the Māori Crown Relations functions to Te Puni Kōkiri on 24 February 2025. For the period since 27 November 2023 until 24 February 2025, I am advised that Te Puni Kōkiri consulted Ministry of Justice as it does not hold this information. The Ministry of Justice response is the total amount paid in redundancy payments since 27 November 2023 was $401,119. None of these were voluntary redundancies. The average redundancy payment was $50,139.88.
For the period since 24 February 2025, I refer the Member to my answer to written question 24423 (2025).
