Dr Tracey McLellan to the Minister of Corrections: What portion of the additional funding provided through Vote Corrections 2026/27, if any, is attributable to prison capacity expansion or prison expansion projects, expressed in both dollar terms and as a percentage of the total additional funding, and broken down by operating and capital funding?

Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that there is no additional infrastructure funding provided for physical capacity expansion through Budget 2026. I refer the member to Question 87 of the 2026 Vote Corrections’ supplementary written questions for information on funding allocated for the expansion of existing prisons, which will soon be made available through the Estimates process.
