Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Education: How many voluntary redundancy processes have been initiated, if any, in the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, as at 22 May 2025, since 27 November 2023, and how much was the total cost in New Zealand dollar terms, if any?

Hon Erica Stanford: Since 27 November 2023, two tranches of voluntary redundancies were initiated. The total cost of these was $14,340,387. There has been one redundancy process at NZQA since 27 November 2023, and the total cost was $1,072,567.43. Education New Zealand has not initiated any voluntary redundancy processes since 27 November 2023. I am advised that no voluntary redundancy processes were initiated at ERO between 27 November 2023 and 22 May 2025.
