Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Education: What restructures, if any, are planned for the 2025/26 financial year in the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, listed by when this may occur, how much is budgeted for restructuring costs and estimated savings to be accrued as a result of restructuring?

Hon Erica Stanford: As in any year, there may be some functions carried out within the Ministry of Education that may need to be reorganised to meet changing education sector service needs. This, along with staffing needs, will continue to be considered in line with the broader organisation-wide changes that have been made to determine appropriate timing, approach and costs associated. No restructuring is planned for the 2025/26 financial year for Education New Zealand No decisions have yet been made about an NZQA restructure at this point. I am advised that no restructures are planned for the 2025/26 financial year at ERO.
