24341 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Education: How much, if any, has been budgeted for the Carbon Neutral Government Programme in the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any for the 1 July 2025 – 30 June 2026 financial year?

Hon Erica Stanford: The Ministry of Education’s budget details for the Carbon Neutral Government Programme for the 2025/26 financial year are still under consideration, so specific details cannot be provided at this time. Education New Zealand has budgeted $16,000 for the Carbon Neutral Government Programme for the 1 July 2025 to 30 June 2026 financial year. NZQA has budgeted $9,000 for the Toitū Carbon reduce annual initiative, which supports the Carbon Neutral Government Programme, for the 1 July 2025 – 30 June 2026 financial year. I am advised that ERO is yet to finalise its 2025/26 budget but it expects to allocate around $12,500 for the Carbon Neutral Government Programme.
