Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Corrections: How much, if anything, is being budgeted in the 2025/26 financial year for redundancy payments, severance or other termination packages in the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, and how much has been budgeted and spent in the past five financial years?

Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that Corrections reports on budgets for redundancy payments, severance or other termination packages through the Annual Review and Estimates select committee processes. Therefore, I refer the member to the Department of Corrections’ responses to question 101, on page 123, of the Annual Review questionnaire, which provides Corrections’ budget for redundancy, severance, and termination packages for the previous five financial years and is available on Parliament’s website here: https://www.parliament.nz/resource/en-NZ/54SCJUST_EVI_340e6d7e-25ad-4bcf-02dc-08dc87b3b9bf_JUST13867/e36e23d5a45dd988d427e2bdd52c068dc21d61c8.
