24311 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Conservation: How many voluntary redundancy processes have been initiated, if any, in the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, as at 22 May 2025, since 27 November 2023, and how much was the total cost in New Zealand dollar terms, if any?
Hon Tama Potaka: The Department of Conservation advises me that it has initiated no processes solely to call for voluntary redundancies from its staff. In one of the organisational change proposals that have been initiated since 27 November 2023, the Savings and Efficiencies change, one of the options for staff who were affected by the change, was to apply for voluntary redundancy through the Management of Change process (as opposed to applying for one of the alternative roles available). I am advised that the total costs of the voluntary redundancies accepted through this process was $634,706.
