Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Children: How many redundancy processes have been initiated, if any, in the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, as at 22 May 2025, since 27 November 2023, and how much was the total cost in New Zealand dollar terms, if any?

Hon Karen Chhour: I am advised by Oranga Tamariki that 256 redundancy processes have been initiated between 27 November 2023 and 22 May 2025. I am further advised that the total cost of redundancy to Oranga Tamariki between 27 November 2023 and 22 May 2025 is $13.325 million. Please note Oranga Tamariki consider each individual redundancy to be its own process.
