24294 (2026). Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Transport: What is the dollar value attributable to each of the specific levers identified for the Baseline Savings – Vote Transport initiative in Budget 2026, namely (a) lower-than-expected costs for delivering drug and alcohol assessments, (b) improved efficiency in wagon assembly at Hillside, and (c) returning funding set aside for administrative functions to deliver the discontinued Crown Resilience Programme local road component, if any?
Hon Chris Bishop: I am advised by the Ministry of Transport that the savings attributable to each line in the Baseline Savings – Vote Transport initiative are as follows: • Drug and alcohol assessment costs: $2.000 million ($0.500 million per annum ongoing) • Hillside efficiencies: $7.000 million in 2026/27 only • Administrative funding associated with the discontinued Crown Resilience Programme: $3.200 million ($0.800 million per annum, ending in 2029/30).
