Vanushi Walters to the Minister for National Security and Intelligence: How much funding across all votes in Budget 2026 is allocated to national security and intelligence functions in total, if any, and how does that compare with the equivalent total in each of the previous two Budgets, broken down by agency, department, Crown entity, company, or other organisation for which the Minister is responsible?

Rt Hon Christopher Luxon: In my capacity as Minister for National Security and Intelligence, I do not have ministerial responsibility for any agencies nor am I a Vote Minister. In my capacity as Prime Minister I am the responsible minister for the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet and Vote Minister for Prime Minister and Cabinet.
