Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Science, Innovation and Technology: What consultations are the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, planning to open on the week beginning Monday 19 May 2025 with employees around any changes to employment roles, employment numbers and any other employment conditions, and what is the proposed net change in roles?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: As Minister of Science, Innovation and Technology, I have no responsibility for any government departments. With regard to agencies, Crown entities and any other bodies under the Science, Innovation and Technology portfolio, I am advised no consultations were opened on the week beginning 19th May 2025, with the exception of New Zealand Forest Research Institute Limited (Scion), which is continuing its consultation process regarding a 19 km shift in the site location of its Christchurch operations. This shift will affect 38 staff, however there is no impact to employment terms.
