24188 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Prime Minister: What consultations are the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, planning to open on the week beginning Monday 19 May 2025 with employees around any changes to employment roles, employment numbers and any other employment conditions, and what is the proposed net change in roles?

Rt Hon Christopher Luxon: In my capacity as the Prime Minister, I am the responsible minister for the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC). The National Emergency Management Agency is a departmental agency hosted by the DPMC. I am advised that DPMC provided a Change Proposal document to DPMC staff regarding the DPMC of the Future programme on 15 May 2025. Consultation on the document is proposed to close on 4 June 2025. No further information will be available on the future shape of DPMC until the consultation has been completed and final decisions have been made.
