24039 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister for ACC: Of any proposed redundancies to their responsible agencies to meet the a public sector saving initiative, if any, how many directly provide a service to customers, as at 30 May 2024?

Hon Matt Doocey: I am advised that as a Crown Entity, ACC has not received a specific savings target from government. I am further advised that as part of the wider public sector, ACC is committed to embedding a culture of expenditure restraint and fiscal discipline while still delivering for New Zealanders. As part of this commitment, ACC is focusing on becoming more efficient by finding opportunities to remove duplication, limit expenditure and stop work that is not closely connected to improved client outcomes. ACC has recently completed consultation on a change proposal that could remove some roles, but would also invest in new roles, including more roles that would work directly with clients. No final decisions have been made.
