Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that there are 2,012 current validated patched or prospect gang members recorded on the National Gang List who were linked to offences as an identified offender between 27 November 2023 to 31 May 2024, compared to 2,272 in the same period between 27 November 2022 to 31 May 2023. I refer the Member to the attached table that shows this information. Gang information is snapshot data, and some of these individuals may not have been gang members at the time of each offence, and conversely, there may have been people who were identified as offenders and recorded as gang members at the time of the offence but are no longer recorded as gang members. Data in this response is drawn from a dynamic operational database and is subject to change as new information is recorded or updated.
