23910 (2025). Hon Marama Davidson to the Minister of Conservation: How many positions, if any, with the word 'ranger' in the job title or description are being disestablished at the Department of Conservation?

Hon Tama Potaka: The Department of Conservation advises me that it is currently consulting with staff on a proposal to change District and Regional leadership team roles in the Regional Operations Group. This Review proposes to disestablish 154 positions that have the word ‘ranger’ in the job title but replace this with 175 new positions that have ‘ranger’ in the title. While there is a proposal to disestablish roles it is intended that all those potentially affected will be reassigned into a new role. Consultation closes on 6 June 2025.
