23883 (2025). Hon Rachel Brooking to the Minister for Food Safety: How does the proposed glyphosate maximum residue limits of 10 mg/kg compare for wheat, barley and oat grains to the current limits in Australia and Canada?

Hon Andrew Hoggard: I refer the member to the attached table which shows a comparison of the proposed maximum residue limits (MRLs), to the current limits in Australia and Canada. The proposed New Zealand MRLs are based on residue information relating to its good agricultural practice and use of the glyphosate under New Zealand conditions. Any differences in MRLs between countries are due to differences in good agricultural practice and the use of the product based on the climatic and environmental conditions between countries.
