Hon Andrew Hoggard: The Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) is responsible for monitoring market access of New Zealand’s primary products to overseas markets. The proposed maximum residue levels (MRL) for glyphosate are lower than the international MRL standard set by the international food standards setting body, Codex Alimentarius, which is widely adopted by other countries to facilitate trade.
