23648 (2025). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister for Mental Health

23648 (2025). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister for Mental Health: How many, if any, Lake Alice survivors of abuse in care, including torture, has the Ministry of Health proactively contacted since 13 August 2024?
Hon Matt Doocey: None. The Ministry of Health encourages survivors of abuse at the Lake Alice Child and Adolescent Unit to apply for torture redress through the Crown Response Office. I am advised that the Ministry is dependent on survivors contacting the Ministry or the Crown Response Office based within the Public Service Commission, given the length of time since individuals were in care at Lake Alice, the limited contact details it holds, and the Privacy Act 1993.
