23410 (2025). Rachel Boyack to the Minister of Health: On what date did Health New Zealand formally decide to shift from a single large acute services building to a staged redevelopment approach involving smaller buildings as part of the Nelson Hospital redevelopment?

Hon Simeon Brown: As I said in Written Parliamentary Question 23273 (2025), I am advised that Hon Ayesha Verrall and Hon Grant Robertson received advice on a phased approach to the project in May 2023, and note that the previous government committed to starting the project during the last term of Parliament. I am further advised that work commenced on revising the scope of the redevelopment in early October 2023. Our Government is backing the people of Nelson by providing funding in Budget 2025 to get on with this critical project.
