23274 (2025). Rachel Boyack to the Minister of Health: Did he, or his immediate predecessor, direct or approve the current “staged approach” to the Nelson Hospital redevelopment?

Hon Simeon Brown: As I said in Written Parliamentary Question 19860 (2025), and as publicly reported and confirmed by Health New Zealand, the scope of the redevelopment was revised to a staged approach under the previous government before the change of Government in 2023. I also note that the previous government committed to starting the project during the last term of Parliament. Our Government is backing the people of Nelson by providing funding in Budget 2025 to get on with this critical project.
