23273 (2025). Rachel Boyack to the Minister of Health: Was the current “staged approach” to the Nelson Hospital redevelopment developed or adopted by officials prior to 27 November 2023?

Hon Simeon Brown: Yes. I am advised that Hon Ayesha Verrall and Hon Grant Robertson received advice on a phased approach to the project in May 2023. I also note that the previous government committed to starting the project during the last term of Parliament. Our Government is backing the people of Nelson by providing funding in Budget 2025 to get on with this critical project.
