23250 (2025). Takutai Tarsh Kemp to the Minister of Finance: How much money in total, if any, has been set aside for pay equity claims?
Hon Nicola Willis: For claims in the public sector, the Government has set aside funding to meet its obligations as an employer. The amount cannot be disclosed as it would prejudice the Crown's ability to carry on future pay equity negotiations.
No specific funding has been set aside to support private sector employers to meet the costs of their pay equity claims. Instead, the Government will consider on a case by case basis whether it should contribute to pay equity related costs pressures through agency baselines or the annual Budget process.
