23097 (2024). Hon Jan Tinetti to the Minister of Education: How many current reading recovery teachers, if any, have trained or are currently training in the Better Start Literacy Approach?

Hon Erica Stanford: I have been advised by the Ministry of Education (the Ministry) that while data about the number of Reading Recovery teachers trained in structured literacy approaches is not formally collected, the Ministry is aware that a number of Reading Recovery teachers are already trained or are currently accessing training in structured literacy approaches, including the Better Start Literacy Approach. This is also my response to written parliamentary questions 23098 (2024) and 23112 (2024).
