23073 (2024). Ingrid Leary to the Minister for Mental Health: Does the Minister agree with The Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatrists, chaired by Dr Hiran Thabrew, that the Government should in response to the demand for mental health and addiction services "increase services to match population growth" , if so, how, and if not, why not?

Hon Matt Doocey: I am advised that the Government has placed a ringfence around funding for mental health and addiction services and set an expectation that those services receive a share of any additional population growth funding for health. In addition, I am driving a focused effort to improve access to services within existing resources.
