23049 (2024). Hon Jan Tinetti to the Minister of Education: Does the Minister consider Reading Recovery teachers to be front-line workers; if not, why not?

Hon Erica Stanford: Yes, and on 28 May 2024, I responded to Oral Question 11 from the member stating teachers who teach Reading Recovery have been offered the opportunity to retrain using structured approaches to literacy. I am also advised that many teachers of Reading Recovery are permanent classroom teachers who are provided with release time to teach Reading Recovery, rather than it being their fulltime role.
