22926 (2024). Dr Tracey McLellan to the Minister of Corrections: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter January – March 2024 in implementing the goal ‘Support the whānau of tāngata whaikaha Māori/ disabled people to access information and support regarding their whānau members.' as part of the Disability Action Plan?

Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that this is a short term action in Corrections’ Disability Action Plan. I am further advised that family members’ access to information is guided by the applicable legislation including the Privacy Act 2020, the Health Information Privacy Code 2020 the Official Information Act 1982 and the Corrections Act 2004. Corrections is currently exploring how best to review and update its existing Health information Policies and Procedures.
