22914 (2024). Dr Tracey McLellan to the Minister of Corrections: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter January–March 2024 in implementing the goal ‘Develop and support roles that facilitate and navigate access and continuity of care for older people, Tāngata whaikaha Māori/disabled people and their whānau', as part of the Ageing Well Action Plan?

Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that this an immediate action in Corrections’ Ageing Well Action Plan. There is also an equivalent immediate action in Corrections’ Disability Action Plan. These actions are now complete. Four new Social Worker Disability and Older Persons roles have been established. Recruitment for these roles was completed during this period. These frontline regional operational roles aim to provide disabled persons, disabled Māori persons, older persons and their whānau with greater access to support and services to create more equitable outcomes and better continuity of care while the person is in prison and on their reintegration to the community. This is also my response to WPQ 22928 (2024).
