22888 (2025). Lemauga Lydia Sosene to the Minister of Internal Affairs: What aides-mémoire, briefings, memos, notes, reports, or any other advice, if any, has the Minister received regarding the two firefighters who were trapped above a fire in Glenfield?

Hon Brooke van Velden: On 26 April 2025, Fire and Emergency New Zealand (Fire and Emergency) emailed my office with information about the event in question. On 27 April 2025, Fire and Emergency responded to an email from my office about the incident. The following week, in its regular operational report to me, Fire and Emergency provided an update titled Hillside Road Recycling Plant Fire Investigations, which outlined the events that took place and Fire and Emergency’s approach to its investigation into the incident. The Department of Internal Affairs provided additional information on 30 April 2025 by email to my office and on 12 May 2025 by a briefing to me.
