22859 (2024). Lan Pham to the Minister for the Environment: Why has the third tranche of plastic phase outs been put on hold?

Hon Penny Simmonds: I intend to take proposals to Cabinet in late 2024 to seek policy decisions on the third tranche of plastic phase outs. The in-force date is subject to a Cabinet decision, but I intend that any regulations made would not take effect sooner than mid-2026. Officials continue to engage with stakeholders and undertake relevant policy work.
