22852 (2025). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What are the overnight medical staffing arrangements currently in place at Kaitāia, Bay of Islands, and Dargaville Hospitals?

Hon Simeon Brown: As the Member will already be aware, Kaitāia Hospital provides overnight medical cover through an on-call Medical Officer or Senior Medical Officer, ensuring access to timely, quality healthcare outside standard hours; Dargaville Hospital currently has no doctor on-site overnight; and Bay of Islands Hospital benefits from the presence of an on-site Medical Officer or Senior Medical Officer overnight to provide continuous medical support for the community.
