22846 (2025). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: How many overseas-based doctors without current New Zealand registrations have provided telehealth consultations in public hospitals since 27 November 2023, if any?

Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that no overseas-based doctors without current New Zealand registrations have provided digital health consultations in public hospitals. I note that, in the case of Kaitāia Hospital, Health New Zealand signed a formal contract with a digital health provider to deliver clinical support across various service settings in Northland hospitals in May 2023.
