22840 (2025). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What is the current number of budgeted but unfilled doctor roles at each of Kaitāia, Bay of Islands, and Dargaville Hospitals?

Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that Kaitaia Hospital has 3.3 FTE, Bay of Islands Hospital has 3.0 FTE and Dargaville Hospital has 1.4 FTE senior medical officer or medical officer vacancies. I am further advised that, where unfilled vacancies exist, Health New Zealand is actively recruiting for those positions as part of our focus on putting patients first and ensuring that all New Zealanders have access to timely, quality healthcare.
